50 projects selected and 73 distributors registered

Starting a new decade, Cartoon Movie’s first edition in Lyon, France, looks very promising. Out of 77 submissions, the Selection Committee picked 50 animated features projects, which demonstrate the high quality and creativity of European animation. More than 390 participants have already registered, including 73 distributors, who will get the unique opportunity to discover a sneak preview of these future films.

For the first time, the game industry will also be represented among the participants. Indeed, a bridge between animation and games professionals can benefit to both industries in this ever-evolving multimedia market.

The registration deadline is 30 January. Producers who are not presenting a project can still participate as observers.

Cartoon Movie 2009 has just received a new visual identity, created by French artist Guillaume Ivernel.

Cartoon Movie is organised by CARTOON with the support of the MEDIA Programme of the European Union, the CNC (Centre national de la cinématographie), the Rhône-Alpes Region and Greater Lyon, in collaboration with the Cluster Imaginove in Lyon. [sumber : cartoon-media]
